A look at upcoming elections

(UPDATED 3/26/08)

What's new? D35

Please note this will be another of the frequently updated posts.

I had been planning on posting a list of all the candidates for the next state Legislature election, but wanted to wait until the filing deadline had passed. Well, it passed at 5 on Monday.

So, here's the complete list of who's running in which district. As information is gathered on their pro or anti stance on firearms issues, this list will be updated. Please check back often

Also, as you obtain firsthand information on these candidates, please let me know. Thanks.

I went to school with Ken Schilz of Ogalalla...... interesting.

Thanks for doing this, Joe!

I've known Ken for about 20 years, he's an avid outdoorsman and I'd venture to say a definite 2A supporter.

In addition, Scott Price running for D-3 had this to say on his blog last summer.

Anon had the following question;

So what is your position on guns?

I'm glad you asked, I support the 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution and the Nebraska State Constitution and urge the vigorous enforcement of all current gun laws by all levels of government.

Joe, Gail Kopplin from district 3 has been responive to my inquiries and actually voted against 958 in all it's interrations - consistently.

Joe,

Chris Moles (LD 7) is a second amendment supporter and is opposed to illegal immigration.

Ref. District 49. LeRoy Louden is a long time rancher who is very Pro-gun. Scott Bolinger seems wishy-washy and rides the fence on major issues. He won't really take a stand on anything. Don't know the other candidate

I am Colby Coash. I have been a NRA member for the last 5 years. I support the 2nd ammendment, gun owner rights, right to conceal carry, and emforcement of laws already on the books.

It appears that this site is fairly selective in gathering and publishng information regarding candidates!

I really hope people don't cast their vote based on what some internet blogger says. You really need to search out all the information and make sure it is factual.

In the 47th District race Karl Elmshaeuser is definately a gun supporter. His years in the Marines taught him a lot about what real gun control is.

He's certainly the smartest and most qualified of the lot!
