Police at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln arrested a Lincoln man Thursday on suspicion of threatening to get a gun and shoot people on UNL’s campus.On Thursday, Seward County 911 notified UNL police that Rodney Robinson, 51, said he was going to “get an AK-47” and go to UNL to shoot a bunch of people, said UNL Police Capt. Carl Oestmann.
Robinson also allegedly made reference to shootings at Omaha’s Westroads Mall and at Virginia Tech, Oestmann said.
Police found Robinson a short time later at Bennett Martin Public Library. He was arrested and lodged in jail on suspicion of making terroristic threats, a Class IV felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine, Oestmann said.“We take these things very seriously and won’t tolerate them,” Oestmann said.
Glad to hear they won't tolerate murder. That's very comforting. I'm sure the next nutbag who is considering a violent rampage will take that into consideration.
Yessirree Bob, I feel SOOOO much safer knowing that random slaying is not tolerated on UNL's campus. That is a load off my mind. Now, if only UNO would make their "no tolerance" policy on murder known publicly.

I guess they take comfort in knowing they've stood up against badness.
You know, bad people like those 21 and older, who have paid hundreds of dollars and endured scrutiny and examination that would normally drive the ACLU batty. All so that we (the bad people, in the State's eyes) can carry around one of the few tools available to protect ourselves against psychos, nutbags, killers, rapists, junkies, kidnappers, zombies, vampires, hare krishnas and whomever else decides that our life is something they'd like to take home.

Campus gun bans stink, and so does the MSM for making sure that ALL the little sociopaths nationwide know the best way to become famous is to shoot a bunch of people in a Gun Free Zone.
Gun-Free-Zones.
A reason the 19 year old Omaha gunman may have thought he could go shoot up the local mall, was the fact that it and other places are: “Gun Free Zones.” This is also a reason many other malls and other such situations occurred over the past decade.
“Gun Free Zones” only benefit one section of society. That’s people who want to hurt others or commit crimes with firearms!

* Concealed Carry permit holders are among the most law-abiding citizens in the nation?
* They must undergo extensive background checks with the police department and FBI?
* They are less likely to be arrested for a crime than a law enforcement officer?
* Many, not all, spend more time practicing with their weapon than law enforcement officers.
* That only law-abiding citizens will honor this sign? Criminals will ignore it. This sign assures the criminal that they are safe in stores or malls, if they decide to commit a crime.
Those of us who have gone through the tedious process of obtaining a permit to carry a concealed weapon have no desire to jeopardize that right. So we will honor these signs (and shop someplace else.)
